Bachelor of Religious Education (B.R.E.)

 
DESCRIPTION
 

More and more, the concerned Christian is becoming aware of the need of higher learning in the field of Christian Education so as to meet the needs of educated, but pagan,  man. For those among this category of the concerned who desire to become ministers, Christian Education directors, missionaries, ministers of music, Christian day school teachers, or desire to become involved in a related area, the B.R.E. degree program offers sound, thorough preparation.

The Bachelor of Religious Education degree program's objectives are (1) to cultivate a vision of the opportunity and need for service in the area of Christian education; (2) to instill an appreciation for the Biblical foundations of Christian education and for the Biblical imperative to maintain it; (3) to impart a usable knowledge of the fundamentals and methods of the teaching-learning process; (4) to insure that the student has an adequate understanding of the organization of the various fields and agencies of Christian education; (5) to so teach the student that he will have a comprehensive knowledge of the Bible and will come to a resolute, personal conviction, and that he will stand for, defend, and preserve Biblical faith.

 
DEGREE
REQUIREMENTS
 

All B.R.E. programs have a major in Bible, selected minors, and require 130 credit hours which are taken over a four-year period.

1.  64 credit hours in Bible
2.  40 credit hours in General Education
3.  3 credit hours in Christian Education
4.  Practical Christian Witness Extension - no credit
5.  24 credit hours in a Minor field of study (Theology, Biblical Languages, Christian Education, Music, Practical Studies).
6.  5 credit hours - elective
7.  A minimum of 130 hours is needed for this degree.
8.  A special project is required for fulfillment of the B.R.E. degree and is to be presented on the Day of Recitals at the end of each year, or a project otherwise assigned.
