Foundations Bible College and Church were founded in 1974. Several friends of the College assembled on the campus, May 18, and marked off the footings for the first building. On June 2, 1974 the College Church was organized and a groundbreaking service was held at 3:00 pm. Mayor Abe Elmore of Dunn and Mayor Whitley Hood of Benson assisted in the service. The Foundations Schools were born to be militant against the apostasy and magnificent for the Lord.
1. To establish and operate an institution of learning. FOUNDATIONS BIBLE COLLEGIATE CHURCH is the sponsoring religious organization for the College. The College is a non-denominational institution. FOUNDATIONS BIBLE COLLEGE is only in existence to proclaim, preserve, and practice religious faith, rather than simply maintain the usual professional college of the liberal arts programs. There is no purpose for its existence apart from the consuming desire to set forth the Bible College context from a spiritual base of the local church in the generation of its charter. We are not in existence for the purpose of political or national or secular reaction, but rather to set forth a true religious liberty as granted by the Constitution of the United States of America.
The motto of the College has been, since its founding, and shall continue to be, veritas supra omnis (truth above all).
1. The NameFoundations Bible CollegeIf the
foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? (Psalm 11:3).
I believe in the verbal and plenary inspiration of the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments; the creation of man by God; the virgin birth of our Lord Jesus Christ; His redemption for the sins of mankind through His blood on the Cross of Calvary; the resurrection of His body from the tomb; His ability to save men from personal sins, to sanctify men from the power of sin, to separate men from the reputation of sin, to announce the distinction between being born of the Spirit and being filled with the Holy Spirit; the hope of the pre-millennial coming of Christ back to the earth; and, the gift of eternal life by the free grace of God.
I believe in the Bible as the fully inspired Word of God; I accept its teachings as the final authority in all matters of faith and life. This pledge indicates that I have read and believe in all the fundamental teachings of the Gospel, the Creed of the College. I pledge myself to help maintain the high moral and spiritual ideals of the school, render due respect to those who are in authority, and fully conform to all the regulations of the school as set forth in the Handbook and Standard. |
